Suffering in heels

beauty is pain
Friday night I attended a function with a couple of friends from work, needless to say all of us put our best foot forward and wore our highest heels. By the end of the night after hours of dancing and standing most of us could barely walk. Swollen feet and an eagerness to get home was the theme resonating amongst us all. Is this the price that comes along with wearing heels? and if so why do we as women put ourselves through such pain?

The answer is simple the confidence a pair of shoes can give a girl is indescribable and undeniable. Most of the women I know are obsessed with shoes and with good reason. I have seen the right shoe transform appearances from casual to glamorous and  outdated to current in a matter of seconds.Beyond the physical shoes have a way of transforming your confidence by making you feel good about yourself. Exactly how they do this is a mystery but is perhaps testament to the super like powers they poses.

Expression is key

Our Blog Our way
“I was born intelligent…but education ruined me.” This quote is awesome…especially if you consider that education can be received in more ways than one. Yes you have the formal education system (in which some of us spent countless hours asking the heavens why we had to learn math) and you have what we like to call ‘social education’. Yes social education… you know the kind of education that teaches you to behave a certain way in public, to say certain things in public, to be polite, eat your veggies and say please and thank you.

On the surface there’s nothing bad about being socially educated but after so many years of being moulded into the perfect social human being, your natural intelligence, your unique representation of self is lost.

The best kind of education if you ask us allows for creativity. Creativity is definitely intelligence having fun. There’s something happening in the world right now (do you feel it) calling of us to be greater, to be different to be crazy, to define ourselves through our own standards… this is our platform… this our canvas… so let’s act how we want to, say what we mean and feel how we feel without apology.
